not all of them, very few of them, most of them are pretty cool, i just don't get too close to any (in terns of hooking up) because of reliigous differences so I personally would stick ot musalman or sikh lol

Lol. This is like "the" question. Its a big circle when it comes to desi guys and girls. I'm the type that'll wave or introduce myself, but the desi guys i know, for the most part have a hard time making eye contact.

I personally think we're intimidated by each other. Haha or think playing the "hard to get" game will work. Its just the matter of approaching each other. I normally get the vibe that brown guys are asses and girls are snobs, but once somebody breaks the ice, we surprise ourselves at how different we turn out to be.

hey, its not all desi girls! lol, but yeah i've met a fair share of girls with attitudes, but then again, its not just desi girls..and you gotta just get with the right group, like i have indian friends and i love them to bits cause they're chill and everythin. but i know exactly what you mean about the second part..and the girls get so conceited about it and show it off even though they have nothin to show off! lol, it's annoyin..!

No they do not.
It's just depends on what girl they talk to
& they might like you, but they can't or
dont want to show it & then the give you an
attitude, like I did to shawn. =/
we ended up being friends after all that attitude.

its so weird. If ya really back up and look at it, desi girls that avoid other desi girls with so called "attitude problems" look like they're the ones with the attitude eventhough you're juss tryna save yourself drama. Its dumb. I Juss stick with saying hey to everyone. It seems to work.

also cuz when younger, the majority of desi guys or girls don't really have much experience with each other, and don't know wtf they're doing until much later...so in hs they all look like asses or snotty when in fact they just don't know what they are supposed to do when they wanna take it past friends or whatever..

that's what i think at least.

that makes sense. Haha yeah, those parties where guys and girls are always segregated. Its always been that way with me, but thats why im more compelled to meet desi kids outside of my family and family friends. My mom's always been like, "stay away from those boys!" But she doesnt mind too much cuz she knows how active in school i am, as long as we stay strictly buddy buddy.

"aawwww look at dem...they are getting soooo buddy buddy"

It's the ones born in bloody America, and bloody England.

They have Western values, which are completely different from Indians ones (In India).

Same goes for Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh - They are much more friendly/non-materialistic out there.

ha..wow! i disagree.

hahaha okay i have the worst eid experiences. Yo paki aunties and indian aunties, they're both fulla gossip. I remember i went to this bengali thing with one of my friends who begged me to come, and everyone knew everyone else there. I thought it would be okay, but damn, i felt like crawling under one of the chairs. I thought being Indian, id blend in.. but nawww.

haha completely understand what you're saying! Most of the desi things we go to are paki. People talk about you.

So you think ones in the Infidel States of America, and the UK are less materialistic, and more friendly? :puke:
not any less than the ones in India or Pakistan. Ive been brought up with the same traditions and have the same values imbedded in me as any other indian girl. But i remember being a friendly american girl in India cuz i had to get along, and they weren't friendly at all, they thought that just cuz i was american, i wouldnt understand and crap. Didnt give me a chance.

well i wouldn't say that all of them are unfriendly, and have an attitude problem.and yess some are, but there are girls like that in india too.
Not every desi girl in amarica or uk has an attitude problem, or are materialistic.

and i'm sure i don't have an attitude. i was born in america, and still know my roots, or whatever. not all of us are westenized. as you may say.

the most arrogant cats i've seen are actually the desies who come straight here...they look down on american born kids thinking we have no culture...for example i was sittin in the cafeteria one ady eating my lunch with a friend...and these indian grad students come and are speaking hindi...they are saying all this shit about us like how look at these kids and how they have no respect for their culture...i bet they don't even know their own language or anything about their culture...

except my friend was paki and speaks urdu and knew exactly what they were saying...

anyways, it's about how you are raised...half my cousins are the biggest theives and shit...one of which raped a girl at knife point...i mean...that's just one of my cousins...another one took thsi dude and beat a man to death at the bazaar to make a point...see what i'm talking about? generalizations don't work...and from my own personal experience...you see what i'm saying?

I know exactly what you mean. I actually had the same kind of incident in a subway when I was coming back from a nightout in the city and I was in my goth attire. Heard a couple talking crap about me and my friend in Urdu and I confronted them.....they seemed really ashamed when they left the train.
